Community engagement and service are important to our culture. We continue Walt Disney’s legacy of giving as we seek to do our part to improve and enrich the lives of children and families around the world – from our millions in annual philanthropic giving to the thousands of Disney VoluntEARS hours performed by our cast members to the local economies we support through job creation, tax revenue and the use of local suppliers and contractors.
We collaborate with local, national and global non-profit organizations to support programs that promote compassion, conservation, creativity and healthy living while addressing the unique needs in the communities we call home. In addition to financial support, we provide in-kind donations such as character visits, park tickets and event support.

Disney Cast Members contribute their time, talents and expertise toward making a positive impact in their communities through the Disney VoluntEARS program. Each year, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts VoluntEARS around the world provide hundreds of thousands of hours of community service – from building playgrounds and community gardens to raising funds for disaster relief to volunteering in children’s hospitals.

Our Cast Members share their broad range of creative and technical talents to benefit our communities. For example, Walt Disney Imagineers contributed to the lobby design of the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando, FL, and CHOC Children’s in Orange County, CA. Both sites incorporate Disney characters and interactive elements to create a calming and nurturing environment for young patients.
Cast members serve on the boards of dozens of non-profit organizations, providing their unique insights and expertise to help these organizations better serve their communities.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts supports local economies by creating jobs, utilizing local goods and services, and contributing tax revenue. To understand how our operations contribute to their communities, we periodically conduct economic impact studies.
